Want to enhance your bathroom hygiene? Start by replacing these five commonly overlooked items, from towels to toothbrushes, to maintain cleanliness and personal care. No matter how frequently you clean your bathroom, high humidity means it will always harbor germs and may not be entirely clean.
Hand Towels
Hand towels are the most used item in the bathroom; you can have your entire family using the same hand towel. So it is necessary to wash it or replace it frequently. There are multiple signs for you to step up and replace your hand towel, such as stubborn smells and visible wear.
Skincare
some skincare products we buy, we don’t use, we put them on the bathroom shelf, and we forget about them. If you are uncertain about the time period, check your skincare products for a “Period After Opening” (POA) marker, which indicates how long the product can last after it has been opened. When exposed to changing temperatures or light, skincare products lose potency and won’t be effective when you use them.

Plungers
Plungers should be replaced annually or when you notice any cracks in them. this will help support cleanliness and the perfect use of the plunger’s life span. It becomes useless when exposed to chemicals or subjected to excessive use.
In-Shower Exfoliators
Loofahs and shower brushes should be replaced every two to three months. Bacteria thrive in moist environments, and loofahs remain moist, trapping dead skin, dirt, and oil. This creates a breeding ground for bacteria, which you then use to wash your body. It’s better to replace it regularly.

Toothbrushes
Toothbrushes should be replaced every three to four months. After this time, the bristles break and lose their structure. This means they can’t effectively clear out tar, dirt, and food from your teeth, leading to plaque buildup and bad breath. Old toothbrushes can easily become hosts for bacteria, and their effectiveness decreases with wear.
